Hello. My name is Janice Fung and I am a designer, observer, and visual storyteller. I teach at Humber College, Toronto, primarily for Bachelor of Creative Advertising program in the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts.
I am also an accredited Registered Graphic Designer of Ontario (R.G.D.) practitioner with an Honours Bachelor of Design (Hons. B.Des.) from York University and Sheridan College with over 15 years of industry experience working as a freelance graphic designer. Some of my predominant clients included Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Dance Umbrella of Ontario, Government of Canada, and Howard Rideout Architect Inc. along with numerous live client projects in the classroom.
In 2009, my interests in the impact of visual communication, use of three-dimensional space and significance of environmental comfort led me to complete my Ph.D. in Architecture at the Glasgow School of Art, University of Glasgow (UK).
I continue to explore design and accessibility, in particular for the visually impaired and limb differences, and enjoy continuous participation in mentorship programs, portfolio reviews and other industry activities through RGD Ontario and the Advertising & Design Club of Canada.
Throughout my creative journey, I strive to foster strong connections and opportunities for collaboration placing value on work with heart that challenges the mind.
